It's an annual tradition at Newport to paint the rock. Students from all over the world start the year by putting their own special touches to the boulder in the campus commons.
Newport College's Orientation welcomes new students to campus with a series of activities designed to bring students, faculty and staff closer together.
Orientation 2007 was held from August 25 to August 30. Students and parents received updated information when they arrived on campus on Saturday, August 25, 2007. * Freshmen Schedule
The schedule will give you an idea of what to expect during Orientation week.
* Freshman Programs
Incoming freshman can learn about specific requirements and programs for them, such as the mandatory FAME (Freshman Advising & Mentoring at Newport) program.
* Transfer
Transfer students coming to Newport College can find information about faculty advisors and academic adjustments, graduation requirements, degree audits, and academic polices.
* Oxford Continuees
Graduates of Oxford College may continue in the junior class in Newport College. Learn about preregistration, deferred enrollment, general education requirements, Newport graduation, programs, and calendar of events.

The basics on how to complete the program, how to use the courseware, and how to learn at a distance are covered. The orientation also involves an evening social gathering for students and their families. |
